This paperweight has been handcrafted with wood from an RNLI flagpole. The flagpole stood on the Isle of Man at Ramsey Lifeboat Station from 1924. The Isle of Man is where RNLI Founder Sir William Hillary was inspired to start the institution. Now, the flagpole that stood on that very ground has been repurposed for this collection.
As well as being engraved with the words ‘RNLI Flagpole. Circa 1924. Isle of Man’, it also features the coordinates for the Tower of Refuge on the Isle of Man – originally built to offer shelter to victims of shipwreck.
The RNLI 200 Limited Paperweight has been made out of brass and wood in England by Man & Bear, experts in creating luxury accessories using traditional techniques.
