 About the Since 1824 collection

When RNLI life jackets reach their end of service, we 're recycling them, by redesigning them into these special products. RNLI life jackets are only decommissioned every 10 years or so, therefore these items are in limited supply. Hard-wearing and water-resistant, each product varies in colour, detail and finish, depending on the unique history of the life jacket it was made from. All items are skillfully crafted by hand in the UK.

Our latest collection uses yellow fabric from the inflatable inner section of the life jacket and takes its name, Since 1824, from the year the lifeboat service was founded, by Sir William Hillary.
