About the author:
Rodney Burge has served many roles as a volunteer for the RNLI Amble. After leaving the Royal Navy, he purchased a trawler boat and began a fishing career. This profession saw him devote much of his spare time to the lifeboats - first as a crew member, the second coxswain, and deputy launching authority. His extensive seafaring experience serves him well in his current role as the lifeboat station's training coordinator.
